Krystal Resort Cancun Reveals the Two-Man Scam When Traveling

Krystal Resort Cancun Scam Prevention Team shares that when traveling, there are a variety of scams that you may be subject to. This travel scam may be tricky to avoid. It can happen just about anywhere, and to anyone. Imagine yourself sitting at a café enjoying a nice cup of espresso. You’re about to munch on what you’ve been told is a delicious biscotti. A stranger then happens to stumble right in front of you and manages to spill the contents of his cup all over you.

The stranger begins to apologize, offers to assist in cleaning the mess. However, this stranger is only a distraction. While this person has your attention focused on them and the mess in your lap, a second individual sneaks in from behind and steals whatever they can get their hands on.

This is one of the oldest travel scams in the book and it has been around for ages. It’s hard to gauge what’s going on in moments like this because you aren’t expecting anything that had just happened. You were minding your own business enjoying the day, and now your mind is zoned in on getting the article of clothing off and cleaned. You’ve also got the distraction of the first person trying to keep you from realizing what’s going on.

You go back to the hotel only to realize your purse is light, and that your cellphone or laptop has gone missing. This scam can be avoided by keeping expensive items in very close proximity to yourself. Krystal Resort Cancun Scam Prevention Team says that you can also avoid having things stolen by securing them in a lockbox at the hotel, and avoid carrying excessive things if they aren’t exactly necessary.
