Krystal Resort Cancun Scam Avoidance Team is sharing two common scams to be aware of this summer. 1. Bar scam This scam is usually targeted towards male travelers. During this scam, a young, attractive local girl will approach a man who she believes to be a tourist and invite him to a local bar. Once there, the men are more than likely to buy the women a drink. At the end of the night when it comes time for the bill to be split, the girls will vanish, leaving the male tourist with a large tab that he must then pay for all on his own shares the Krystal Resort Cancun Scam Avoidance Team. 2. Motorcycle/Scooter Scam Most of the time when a traveler rents a scooter or motorbike from a company, they are given both a key and a lock so that they can secure their vehicle if they so happen to go inside of a local store, restaurant, etc. There is, however another key that the rental company holds for each lock. When a tourist locks up their scooter somewhere, an employee of the unscrupulous rental company will come and “steal” the bike, which you are then obligated to pay for to replace. In order to avoid being scammed this way, carry your own lock and key.
